Seven: building together for the future

Creating buildings in which people flourish and which have a positive climate impact. That is what we work on at Seven. Using contemporary techniques, we create buildings that do not require energy, but give energy. In doing so, we adopt an integral vision of designing with nature, the comfort of the indoor climate and reducing energy consumption.

Our name 'Seven' refers, among other things, to the seventh generation after us. That generation is the starting point of our consultancy: what impact will the building have on them? What will they think of the building? Our goal is that they think we have created a good building.

In this way we ensure that our clients receive the best possible building in terms of building physics and climate impact. We can't do this alone. To achieve this, we work closely with like-minded construction professionals and our clients. By being actively involved from the start of the design process, we jointly achieve the best results for people and the future.

Jan Geerts: knowledge expert with a big green heart

Seven was started in 2023 by Jan Geerts. As a front runner, he has more than 17 years of experience in energy-efficient design and construction. He used his knowledge with BCD Advies as an independent consultor for small-scale progressive projects, such as private homes and collective private home owners. Before that, he worked for 8 years at a leading building physics consultancy firm, where he worked on very large and challenging projects, such as museums, residential towers, ministries and hospitals.

In recent years it has dawned on him that we must drastically change course if we want the seventh generation after us to also be able to live on a liveable planet. Good is not good enough; we must look at what is minimally necessary for a healthy future. That is why he became a certified passive house designer in 2018 and has self-taught himself in biophilic design. Moreover, he lives in an ecologically certified passive house.

No unhealthy buildings built with fossil raw materials, but regenerative living environments where people and nature flourish. Based on this belief, he consults architects and developers at Seven who do not want to do 'good enough' but 'seriously good'. In this way he combines his heart for the climate with his knowledge of building physics.
